*PORT FICTION is an interdisciplinary artistic research project on the relationship between the port cities of Beirut and Hamburg. On a multimedia website, the works of all different artists are interwoven into a collective overall composition. In the fall of 2023, we are presenting the project for the first time in Hamburg. As part of an exhibition at Imagine the City - Gästezimmer and a series of events at Kunsthaus Hamburg, the website will be made accessible to the public at both locations.

*Focusing on the archives of Studio Baalbeck – what could be thought of as a national film heritage of Lebanon – the concerstaion focuses on outlining and exploring the intermingled economies that shape and surround cultural production in general and the film industry in specific. A lexicon was constructed during a workshop as a tool in attempting to make legible the unknowns of the Studio Baalbeck Archive. This lexicon will act as a map to guide the screening and conversation. The workshop was convened by Ayman Nahle and Siska and took place from October 2021 – March 2022 as part of the Whole Life Academy , HKW, Berlin.

*I am proud to announce the release of the album I produced with Felix Claßen, Berlin-based musician, producer and sound artist. Mutradim مُتَرَدِّمْ is our first joint release. Exploring the tension between experimental electronic club music and Arabic-language rap and Lyricisim. Investigating asymmetries of power, regimes of misconduct, and their acute consequences within overlapping spaces of reverberating references. We searched for answers to the tragedy that left us all speechless on August 4, 2020, in Beirut's port. In September 2023, the tracks will be performed live for the first time in Berlin.

*redeem رديم is a platform for ongoing conversations between voices from Beirut in Berlin and peers around the world. Following a week-long workshop at Künstlerhof Frohnau in June 2021, redeem رديم created an event at the iconic Haus der Statistik in August 2021 in Berlin where a line-up of talks, films, readings, music and live performances took place. At Memphis, redeem رديم will present a selection of works produced between 2020-2022 in the form of a group exhibition accompanied by a two-day program.

Reviving Cinema Al-Amir from Aleppo’s Baron Street in Berlin as a film platform for cinema in diaspora or diaspora in cinema KINO AL AMIR will be screening three programs: “Projecting Towards a Possible Future”, “Drive me Tender” and “Kino Al-Amir Special” co-curated by Philip Widmann.
